If we want to just do a smaller, possibly vanilla server while we wait for S3 I'd be happy to take a day or two to whip up a custom Worldpainter map.

Haven't been active in this thread - but I'd be super happy with this. I just wanna build a comfy snow village again :/

I've said before that I'd be willing to fork out a little cash to get a server running, and I meant it.

That offer still extends, especially since I'd have a much easier time affording it now.

Well, since we clearly have interest (read: shmucks with excess money) I'd be happy to start dabbling in map-making. I'm stating here with y'all as my witness that I'm a fair novice/lazy with Worldpainter, but I have some ideas regarding resource distribution that could help foster conflict between rival groups, and I'm a fair hand at worldpainter mountains. Do you guys want to start shooting me ideas to play with, biomes and whatnot? For the uninformed, Worldpainter functions sorta life a macro-Voxel sniper, allowing heavy edditing of terrain which can be exported to a Minecraft map. It comes built in with some custom trees and resource-distribution controls, which makes for interesting deposits/caves.

Dunno about other folks, but I'm personally all-for pooled resources in the world (making trading more viable), and dangerous areas that risk a player's life to enter. Both of those could also provide some good starting bases for organic roleplaying as well, should we go down that route.

I'll post some screenshots in the near future showing what I have in mind. My goal is to incite conflict between settlements in different biomes and also to influence building style via the available materials in a given area.
